Directions 

The best way to reach Oltrella is by car or motorbike. You can reach Ponte Nizza town center by bus from Milan, but after that, be ready for a couple kilometers walk uphill.

In country areas like Oltrepò Pavese, roads and places are often not signposted and not all road names can be found on navigators. However you can find Oltrella on Google Maps.

In all cases where you cannot follow a navigator, you can print the following directions for reference:

If you arrive from the North (eg. from Milan) or from Genoa, drive to Motorway A7 and exit at Casei Gerola. At the first roundabout turn left and follow the signs to Voghera. As soon as you reach Voghera, you will see the signs to Varzi or Passo del Penice. Follow them.

If you arrive from the South (e.g. from Bologna), drive to Motorway E70 and exit at Voghera, then follow the signs to Varzi or Passo del Penice.

After Voghera, the next town on your route is Rivanazzano. While following the signs to Varzi you drive through the town center and then you cross the bridge over the river Staffora. Just after the bridge, at the roundabout, turn right towards Varzi and Passo del Penice. You are entering Valle Staffora.

Follow the road and drive straight on. The road gently climbs uphill and passes through the valley's villages, especially Salice Terme, Godiasco, Ponte Nizza and Molino del Conte. Just after Molino del Conte, follow the sign (on the left hand side) to Vignola. You are almost there!

The last bit of the road here is narrow and irregular. After a couple of isolated houses you can see Oltrella from the road: the House is partly pink and partly stone, a small hedge surrounds the parking lot. Turn right and enter the unpaved lane; just before the House turn right to park your car.
